General & Menu

  • We serve Asian-inspired + New American café fare — think kaya toast, inventive pastries, breakfast fare, and seasonal specials.

  • Yes! We rotate specials & seasonal offerings frequently, so visiting more often = more surprises.

  • Yes — we aim to have something for everyone, regardless of dietary restrictions.

While not everything is vegan or allergy-safe, we try to have options, and our staff is happy to help you navigate what’s safe based on your needs. Modifications on made-to-order foods are possible when ordering at the cafe – so please talk to our service team about special requests and we’ll try our best to accommodate!

  • We have two spots:

    • Richmond District — 1408 Clement Street, San Francisco

    • Dogpatch / Pier 70 — Building 12, 1070 Maryland Street

Hours for both: 8 am–2 pm, Wednesday through Monday (closed Tuesdays).

  • The Richmond location is more cozy (cozy = small!), so indoor seating is limited. We have a spacious parklet with lots of seating or take your food to go, Golden Gate Park is just a few blocks away.

The Dogpatch / Pier 70 location is in a much larger industrial / warehouse setting, offering more open room indoors and a more airy vibe.

  • Yes! Both locations have outdoor seating (benches, tables) when weather allows.

Locations, Hours, Seating & Space

Parking & Getting There

  • There are parking options! Many folks use street parking or nearby garages.

At the Dogpatch / Pier 70 location, parking is a bit easier (there’s more room, plus some lot / street parking along 22nd Street)

Heads-up: some parking is metered or limited, so plan ahead (arrive early if you can).

  • Yes! There are bike racks at both locations!

Timing & Waits

  • Weekend mornings get very busy. We tend to sell out, so please come early to get your pick.

If you want your faves (weekend specials) skip the line and order ahead.

  • We don’t currently accept reservations (we operate more cafe / bakery style). It’s first-come, first-served.

  • Usually our team tries its best to ensure a quick turnaround from the time you place your order to when your food and drinks are ready. During our busiest times, our cashier will give you a heads up if anything takes longer than 15-20 minutes. Ordering ahead ensures that you get your food at the designated pick-up time. Remember, all drinks are made to order and can take a few extra minutes when we’re busy!

Other & Miscellaneous

  • Yes — especially for special pastries or limited seasonal items. We try to make enough, but sometimes demand exceeds what we’ve made. If there’s something you really want, getting there early is your best bet.

  • Breadbelly was founded by chefs James Wong, Clement Hsu, and Katherine Campecino-Wong. Their roots are in fine dining, and they wanted to create a more approachable, neighborhood spot to bring flavors from their childhood and training.

Breadbelly is just a fun name. We try to not take ourselves too seriously!
